What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When you sign up to the website, we will collect certain information from you. This will always include your username, date of birth and email address and may also include any other information required to create a profile to use on the site. This might include any contact details, photograph(s), your gender and nationality, your interests, marital status and your location.
We will never personally ask you for any financial details and if you ever receive any email purporting to be from DreamDateUK, or any variation of that name, do not pay and contact us immediately where will will investigate the matter.

Other data we might collect from you
Sometimes you can leave personal data on a website without even realising! When a visitor leaves a comments on the site this data is stored in the database to enable it to be displayed on the page.
At DreamDateUK.co.uk we don’t insist that a visitor is logged in to be able to comment (but all comments are manually accepted) so no logged-in cookies are needed for this.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
On this site, we use a form of contact form that does not need the storage of data therefore no information you give in any form will be stored. The information

Who we share your data with
We do not sell or share your data with anyone. Any data on the site is intended for our own use in offering the services of the site.
How long we retain your data
We retain data for ‘as long as is required’. This means that if, for example, you enter data into a comment field, we will hold that data for as long as that page is live and of use to other site members. Other data will be deleted as quickly as possible when it is no longer needed, so for example, if you delete your account, all your data will be removed immediately. In the case of backups, this will take longer but the removal is usually complete after the next full backup which replaces all the site content with the latest current content.
For users that register on our website (if any) we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. There is a fee for this which is currently £35. If you request a data file, we will send it by email to the address given in your account.
How we protect your data
We protect your data by using the latest security technology available to us to try to thwart unlawful logins and hacking attempts to the site. We run a firewall on the server and carry out regular backups which are stored safely and in an independent location as required by the Data Protection Act 1998 and the EU Data Protection Directive of 1995 for the safety, protection, processing and movement of data.

Support and tickets
If you contact us for support or simply to ask a question, we will maintain a record of the chat or messages sent for the period necessary in which there may still be a use for the given information, however, we will make every attempt to delete this data as quickly as possible (simply to optimise server space) so if you wish to keep a more permanent record for your own use, please make a copy of any messages sent and received.
We may also collect and hold information if you choose to take part in any of the surveys or questionnaires or competitions we offer from time to time. This information will be kept for as long as it is deemed necessary.
We may also store and keep information that may not be personal information. This will include information regarding your visits to the website, or how many times you logged in and out etc. It might also include, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data. We make every attempt to keep unnecessary data off the site!
3rd party information
From time to time, we might be associated with various other business partners, sub-contractors (for technical, financial and delivery services), advertising networks, analytics providers and search information providers. We may receive information about you from any of these parties. This information will mainly be anonymous but may also include your name, email address and any other data that the associated 3rd party site may collect, but we will only receive the elements of data that are associated with our connection with the 3rd party site. We will not receive any data about you from any 3rd party that is not in connection with out association with that site.
Sensitive personal information
We will record certain information about you which is classed as ‘sensitive’ information. This will include varying data and will be dependent on which of our categories and/or services you are interested in, those which you have accessed as a guest and those which you have joined. This information will be the very minimum that we need from you to validate your age and your membership and profile details.
We do not record or store any record of any membership transactions. Neither will we keep or store any of your financial details. We will have no record or knowledge of any of your financial details. All payments to DreamDateUk.co.uk are currently taken via PayPal and we have no control or access to any of the pages where these financial transactions take place.
‘Sensitive personal information’ means information or opinion about an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, their political opinions, membership of any political parties, their religious beliefs, philosophical beliefs and sexual preferences or practices. Any sensitive information supplied by you will be used only for purposes it was intended, i.e. for creating a profile.
DreamDateUK will only ever use any of your information as allowed by UK and EU law.
Why do we collect your personal information?
When you complete any forms on any website this data is stored in a database. This information is required to join the site and create a profile. When you have joined and created a profile, the information you used will be maintained in the database that is connected to the forms that you completed.
We do not pass this information on to any other parties for any reason. The only 3rd party that we are obliged to pass on any data about you to, sensitive or otherwise, is the police.
We use the information we hold about you to process your communications while on the site, provide you with an up to date and efficient and reliable Service, help prevent fraudulent activity and provide customer care services.
For the avoidance of doubt, DreamDateUK do not record or store any Credit Card or Debit Card information or any of your financial details. All membership payments are made through PayPal.
We will occasionally include your data for statistical and demographic analysis but this will be anonymous information and not include your name, age or email address.
We also need a record of your information to investigate any complaints about you or complaints made by you, or if we have reason to suspect that you are in breach of the website terms of service or that you have otherwise engaged in any unlawful activity.
We are required by to keep certain records to comply with applicable laws (including the Data Protection Act 1998).
By becoming a member of DreamDateUK you agree that we may use your information to contact you by email (or SMS if a phone number is given) about any offers, events, competitions, and related activities that you may find useful as well as other products and services offered by us or any of our associated parties from time to time.
You may receive Marketing Communications from DreamDateUK or any of our associated companies.
After your annual membership has ended, unless you unsubscribe from any of these related services, you may still receive correspondence from them.
We will not sell, trade or rent your personal information to any other company.
We may share your data with other reputable companies if these are in association with us.

Any access request may be subject to a fee of £35 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.
You can request a copy of all the information we hold about you by contacting us on our contact page and choosing the ‘Data Protection Act’ option.
We reserve the right to refuse to provide you with a copy of your personal data based on the exemptions set out in the Data Protection Act 1998 but if we do refuse we will give full reasons for our refusal and allow you to challenge our decision.
DreamDateUK and children
Our website is not intended for anyone under the age of 18 (eighteen) therefore children are not eligible to visit our website or use our services. When you sign up to the site you tick the box to confirm to us that you are over the age of 18 years. We take a zero tolerance stance on under age access and any instances found will be classed as unlawful and in breach of our site access policies and may be referred to the local police.
